Frequently Asked Questions

Everything about Calebra — our process, pricing, medication, privacy, and more.

Getting Started

No referral is needed. You book directly with Calebra online. Our licensed Ontario Nurse Practitioners are fully authorized to assess and diagnose ADHD independently — no GP required.
Our ADHD Assessment is available to adults aged 18 and older. Because Calebra is a private platform, no Ontario health card is required. You simply need to be physically present in Ontario at the time of your appointment.
As a private platform, most Calebra clients are seen within days of booking. The Ontario public system can involve waitlists of 6 months to 3+ years for psychiatry. Check our booking calendar for current availability.
For your assessment, we require that you attend on a laptop or desktop computer, in a well-lit area that is private and quiet. A working camera, microphone, and reliable internet connection are required. The assessment is a medical appointment and your environment matters. Follow-up appointments may be conducted from other devices at the provider’s discretion. You will receive a secure link before your appointment — no app download required.
That is exactly what the assessment is for — a clear, professional answer. You can also take our free ADHD quiz on this site for an informal indication of whether an assessment makes sense for you.

The Assessment

Your virtual assessment includes a comprehensive platformal interview, the platformal standard ADHD rating scales, full medical and developmental history review, behavioural observations, and more. Your NP synthesizes everything into a formal written report delivered within two weeks.
Within two weeks of your assessment appointment.
Your provider will explain why you do not meet the criteria for ADHD and, if another condition is suspected, that will be explained as well. You will receive a written report that you can take to your family doctor for further discussion and guidance.
A thorough intake form will be sent to you before your appointment. We recommend setting aside at least 45 minutes to complete it carefully. The intake form must be completed at least 48 hours before your appointment. If your appointment is sooner than 48 hours away, please complete it immediately upon booking.

Pricing & Insurance

No. Calebra is a private platform and services are not covered by OHIP. Extended health benefit plans vary greatly — we always recommend confirming coverage with your insurer before booking if you are relying on insurance. We can provide a document you can share with your insurance company to help confirm coverage. We provide receipts for all appointments.
ADHD Assessment: $450 (new clients, adults 18+). Treatment Plan Review: $85. Medication Follow-Up: $85. Appendix 8: $150. Accommodations Letter: $150. Travel Letter: $60. All follow-up services are for existing Calebra clients only. A 2.4% card processing fee applies to all credit and debit card purchases. This fee is waived on e-transfer payments.
We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and e-transfer, all handled securely through our booking system. Note that a 2.4% card processing fee applies to card payments; e-transfer payments are exempt from this fee.

Medication & Treatment

Our licensed Nurse Practitioners have full prescribing authority in Ontario. Prescribing is at the sole discretion of the provider. Clients must complete all required lab testing before any medication can be prescribed to ensure medications are a safe and appropriate option. For example, we would not prescribe medications in cases involving cardiac concerns, hypertension, substance abuse disorders, or other contraindications. Being diagnosed with ADHD does not guarantee a prescription.
Follow-up frequency depends on stability. Early in treatment, appointments may be every two weeks to one month. As your treatment stabilizes, follow-ups may extend to every two to three months.
Medication is just one small part of ADHD treatment — even for clients who are prescribed medication, it is only one piece of a broader picture. There are many effective approaches to managing ADHD, including behavioural strategies, coaching, CBT, lifestyle adjustments, and more. Your provider will discuss all relevant options with you based on your individual situation.

Privacy & Compliance

Completely. Calebra operates in full compliance with PHIPA and federal PIPEDA. All appointments run on an encrypted telehealth platform. Your health information is never shared without your explicit consent except where required by law.
Yes. Every provider on the Calebra platform is a licensed Nurse Practitioner regulated by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO), and trained and qualified in ADHD assessment and management.
